Civic Builders works to ensure that real estate will never be a barrier to an excellent education
History
As of 2013, Civic Builders has completed or in development 16 school facilities serving over 8,300 student in approximately 861,000 square feet.
2002 – Civic Builders becomes incorporated to remove the burden of real estate from charter school administrators
2003 – The Bloomberg administration allocated $250m in the city’s capital plan for the creation of charter school facilities and named Civic Builders new York’s only nonprofit developer as a partner in the program
2004 – Civic Builders provided its turnkey real estate solution to its first client, Bronx Charter School for the Arts which was completed in 2004
2006 – Bronx Lighthouse Charter School is completed
2006 – Excellence Boys (Uncommon Schools) is completed
2008 – Democracy Prep Charter School is completed
2009 – Achievement First Endeavor is completed
2009 – Icahn Charter School 2 is completed
2009 – New Heights Academy Charter School is completed
2011 – Hyde Leadership Charter School is completed
2011 – North Star Academy College Preparatory High School (Uncommon Schools) is completed
2012 - Urban Dove Team Charter School is completed
2012 - Harlem Village Academies High is completed
